Flanked by such major tourist destinations as the Georgia World Congress Center, Philips Arena and Centennial Olympic Park, Omni CNN Center is a highly visible landmark in Atlanta's downtown core. Over the past decade, CMMI was engaged in ongoing renovations to the existing hotel, built in the 1970's. Additionally, the firm provided both architectural and interior design services for the new 27-story tower addition. The $70 million expansion adds 600 guestrooms to the existing hotel, making it the leading convention hotel in downtown Atlanta. The design team's solution incorporates the modern look of the original hotel, without overwhelming the skyline.
